2006 Bugatti Veyron 16.4

It is sensational. Incredible. Unbelievable. Not merely the fastest and most powerful car the world has ever known but also, possibly, the best car ever.” Autocar, October 2005.

The Bugatti Veyron

When future historians and collectors consider which motor car best defined the early 21st Century, surely the Bugatti Veyron will be at the top of most experts’ lists.
The absolute benchmark for outright performance in our era, and a technological tour de force, the Veyron was the ‘hypercar’ which finally toppled the McLaren F1 from its perch as the world’s fastest automobile – and look what has happened to F1 values and those of subsequent limited-edition offerings from McLaren (P1), Ferrari (LaFerrari) and Porsche (918 Spyder).

The Veyron was launched in 2005 and named in memory of Pierre Veyron, who won the 1939 Le Mans 24-hour race for Bugatti. The name ‘16.4’ stands for 16-cylinders/four turbochargers. The Veyron, named ‘Car of the Decade’ by Top Gear, was produced from 2005 to 2015.

All cars were manufactured at Bugatti’s traditional home in Molsheim, France. The original Veyron’s performance was staggering, with a 0-62mph in 2.46 seconds and the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds, crossing the line at 149.1mph. Top speed was 253mph.

After four years of special editions, production of all models stopped in 2015.
According to factory records, 300 coupés were produced, of which 252 were the original Veyron and 48 the Super Sport.

This Bugatti Veyron 16.4 was delivered on 7 December 2006, the commission handled directly by Bugatti Automobiles SAS, in Molsheim, France. The original Country of Destination was Germany.

Finished in arguably the best looking colour combination of any Veyron, a striking light blue with silver, paired with a one-colour blue interior, individual touches include an engine-turned centre console and black brake calipers. This Veyron is Swiss registered and taxes paid. It comes with an ‘EEC – Certificate of Conformity’ so can be easily re-registered elsewhere in the European Union subject to local import taxes.

Servicing has been carried out in accordance with Bugatti’s strict recommendations:

10 April 2009: 432km Bugatti Automobiles SAS, Molsheim
5 May 2010: 1,506km Bugatti Automobiles SAS, Molsheim
31 March 2011: 7,332km HR Owen, London
11 July 2012: 7,648km Bugatti Automobiles SAS, Molsheim
5 March 2013: 9,745km Pichler GFG AG, Gstaad
3 November 2015: 14,760km Pichler GFG AG, Gstaad

The car has recently undergone a full yearly service at Pichler GFG AG totalling over CHF 52,000, which included returning the wheels to Molsheim for the fitment of four new tyres, tyre pressure sensors and valves. Pichler confirmed to our client that having inspected the wheels they are good for another two tyre changes before replacement. Please note that as of November 2015 Bugatti has announced a revised, more affordable tariff for Veyron maintenance including wheels and tyres.

Mileage stands at circa 15,000km, most of which has been covered by the present, second owner, a connoisseur of fine motor cars whose stable has included everything from Ferrari 250 GT SWB, 250 LM and 196 SP to myriad supercars including, notably, a McLaren F1.

Presented in perfect ‘as delivered’ condition, serviced right up to date and in a highly desirable and subtle colour combination, this low-mileage Veyron is an opportunity to buy a two-owner, accident free example of Bugatti’s groundbreaking ‘new era’ hypercar.

With all current and future 200mph+ hypercars now using hybrid technology, despite its advanced technological specification the Veyron is still an ‘analogue’ machine powered by an immensely potent turbocharged motor; in every way a Bugatti true to the spirit of the extravagant and exclusive machines of the 1930s.
